The Lahore Traffic Police has launched a massive crackdown on vehicles with unpaid e-challans, targeting the top 1,000 defaulters across the city—including government vehicles.
Led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed, the operation uses advanced surveillance tools from the Punjab Safe City Authority to identify, trace, and penalize offenders in real-time.
📍 12 Recovery Teams Deployed Across Lahore
To ensure swift enforcement, 12 dedicated recovery teams are working citywide, equipped with Safe City data to track down violators. Officers are collecting on-the-spot fines from vehicle owners caught with overdue traffic penalties.
🛑 Over 300 vehicles have already been apprehended in just a few days.
😱 Shocking Case: Bike With 313 Violations
In a standout case, a motorcycle was found with an astonishing 313 unpaid e-challans, adding up to a whopping fine of Rs. 335,300.
This highlights the scale of non-compliance and the urgency behind the ongoing operation.
🏛️ Government Vehicles Not Spared
CTO Dr. Waheed revealed that official government vehicles are also among the top violators. A separate list has been prepared, and action against these departments is expected in the coming days.
“No one is above the law—whether private or government-owned,” he said.
