Ignite, through its National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative (NGIRI) for 2023-24, is igniting innovation among final-year ICT undergraduate students in HEC-recognized institutes. This program not only provides financial assistance but also aims to foster creativity and innovation by supporting the development of cutting-edge Final Year Projects (FYPs).
Ignite’s National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative (NGIRI) 2023-24: Fostering Innovation in Final Year Projects
Phase I – Funding of FYP: NGIRI supports the selected final-year students with funding for their FYP prototypes, focusing on emerging technologies from the 4th Industrial Revolution. These technologies include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Wearables and Implantables, Robotics, 3D/4D Printing, Neurotech, and Blockchain. The financial assistance covers equipment (up to Rs. 84,700) and miscellaneous expenses (up to Rs. 12,100).
Phase II – FYP National Championship: NGIRI doesn’t stop at financial support; it provides a platform for recognition through the FYP National Championship. Selected FYPs from participating institutions compete for the National Championship, offering substantial cash prizes to the winners.

- Project Team (up to 3 Students): Cash Prize Rs. 400,000
- FYP Supervisor: Cash Prize Rs. 100,000
- First Runner Up:
- Project Team (up to 3 Students): Cash Prize Rs. 275,000
- FYP Supervisor: Cash Prize Rs. 75,000
- Second Runner Up:
- Project Team (up to 3 Students): Cash Prize Rs. 150,000
- FYP Supervisor: Cash Prize Rs. 50,000
