πΌ Role Overview
As Renewable Energy Digital Communications Officer, youβll drive digital campaigns and storytelling across two major initiatives:
- β‘ Platform of Action: Accelerating renewable energy to stay under 1.5Β°C
- πΈ Big Shift Global: Shifting public finance away from fossil fuels toward clean energy access
You’ll work within CANβs international communications team to create content, lead digital strategies, build media relations, and support coalition coordination.
π― Key Responsibilities
- Co-develop & implement digital communications strategies
- Create content that highlights renewable energy success stories from the Global South
- Develop campaign messaging & coordinate editorial calendars
- Manage journalist outreach and media relations
- Monitor digital engagement and report on campaign metrics
- Support media work at major global events
- Collaborate with campaigners, partners, and designers
- Assist in redesigning CAN-I’s website and digital presence
- Handle digital fundraising and communication tools like Mailchimp & WordPress
π§° Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in digital media, communications, or journalism
- Strong writing and content creation skills
- Experience explaining technical topics in accessible language
- Proficiency with social media, Canva/Adobe tools, and analytics
- Familiarity with climate, energy, or development issues is a plus
- Remote team collaboration and cultural sensitivity
- Excellent organization, independence, and time management
π Travel & Language
- Up to 20% international travel may be required
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required; additional languages are a bonus
