In a significant move to strengthen Pakistan-Italy relations, Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Consulate of Italy in Karachi. The partnership aims to facilitate smooth diplomatic travel and foster stronger cultural and business connections between the two nations.
The MOU was signed by Mohammed Alhashmi, Emirates’ Vice President for Pakistan, and Fabrizio Bielli, the Consul of Italy, during a ceremony at the Italian Consulate in Karachi.

Under this strategic agreement:
- Emirates will be the preferred airline for official travel by Italy’s diplomatic mission in Karachi
- Diplomatic travelers will benefit from preferential fares, special cargo rates, and extra baggage allowances
- Emirates will support diplomatic and cultural events organized by the Consulate
- The Consulate will recommend Emirates for business and personal travel between Pakistan and Italy
Mohammed Alhashmi shared,
“This MoU reflects our shared commitment to enhancing cultural and economic ties. We look forward to facilitating travel for Italy’s diplomatic personnel and supporting their cultural engagement in Pakistan.”

Emirates plays a crucial role in connecting the two countries with over 50 weekly flights to five Pakistani cities — Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Sialkot — and 42 weekly flights to Italian destinations including Milan, Rome, Venice, and Bologna.
