In a major step toward digitizing Pakistanβs financial infrastructure, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the nationwide expansion of digital wallets, aiming for 100% digital fund disbursement by next year.
The announcement was made during a ceremony recognizing key contributors to the success of the Prime Ministerβs Ramazan Relief Package, where the PM praised the use of digital payment solutions for ensuring transparency, speed, and dignity in public welfare distributions.

Amir Ahmed Ali, Secretary of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), briefed the audience on how digital wallets improved fund management and delivery. The initiative is now poised to include all provinces, creating a coordinated national framework for digital payments.
